Les Gotcher recordings
Les Gotcher, the self-described Hashmaster, was a prominent figure in the development of modern square dance. (See various entries about him here on the Square Dance History Project or his entry in the Square Dance Hall of Fame.) His Square-'N-Round magazine started publication in 1953, and he released a series of 45 rpm records on the Square-'N-Round label. This collection includes nearly 60 such recordings, with call sheets for most of them. (Call sheets can be found as JPEG images, while the audio files are MP3.) They illustrate a period in the development of modern square dance when callers were acrtively expanding the universe of named figures.
